There is a replica of a Viking longship being built locally. The ship is being built as close as possible to original design and using original methods. It is 35-40 ft in length, made from hand cut white Oak, from what I was told. It is nearly complete and plans are to sail it this coming year. I have been invited to ge see it personally and plan to do so in the next couple of weeks. The builder, who I know of although never have met yet, has kept this project pretty quite.
